AHR recovery, with the real maths
There are exactly four published ways an Account Health Rating recovers, and one of them is much faster than the others. Here they are in the order a seller in trouble should use them.
Passing the policy quiz tagged to a violation earns points back, and passing a milestone quiz can shorten a milestone restriction. Quizzes are the only recovery that takes minutes instead of months. If your Shop Health page offers a quiz, it is almost always fix #1.
If a violation was wrong, or correctable and corrected inside its window, the enforcement attached to it is not taken — and points returned through a successful appeal or correction do not follow the normal 180-day rule. This is why routing matters: appeal the errors, correct the correctable, and never waste an appeal on a violation that was real and fixable by correction.
Every 200 finished orders in the last 180 days earns 4 points, capped at 20 points per week. Finished means finished: returns, cancellations and samples do not count. At beginner volume — say 30 orders a week — order-based recovery is roughly 1 point a week. It is real, and it is slow, and any plan that depends on it alone is a plan to stay in the orange for months.
Every deduction expires 180 days after it landed. A violation from January stops costing you in July. Time heals the score — but only if no new violation lands meanwhile, which is why the prevention fixes (dispatch routine, listing sweep, never-list rules) are part of every recovery, not an afterthought.
Opening a new shop (accounts are connected; enforcement follows). Buying 'AHR boost' services (nobody outside TikTok can move the number). Messaging support repeatedly (support cannot edit the score). Waiting while still shipping late (the next deduction lands before the old one expires).
It depends on the route: a quiz can move you the day you pass it; a successful appeal returns its points; orders move you about 4 points per 200 finished orders. The checker on this site's home page shows your exact distance to the next milestone so you can plan against a number, not a feeling.
Yes — TikTok says it informs sellers when their AHR is 10 points away from the next milestone. Treat that message as a fire alarm, not a newsletter.
The checker above is free and always will be. The kit is the depth: the letters, the plan, and the sheets, in one place, stamped with the rules as checked October 22, 2026.
